Brewing news USA: Granite City Food & Brewery opens a new restaurant in Madison, Wisconsin

Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. a Modern American upscale casual restaurant has opened a new restaurant in West Madison, Wisconsin, Business Wire announced December 13. The new restaurant is located in the West Towne Mall.

The Madison restaurant is the seventh restaurant opened in 2006. The Company has now completed its goal of seven new restaurants in 2006 and has a total of eighteen restaurants in the Midwest.

"This is our first restaurant in the Madison market," commented Steve Wagenheim, Granite City's CEO and President. "We believe the Madison market is a perfect 'sweet spot' for our concept. Our guests will be able to enjoy an upscale dining experience with superior service at a casual dining price. In addition to our made-from-scratch food served in generous portions, our proprietary hand-crafted beers will fit well in a market that understands great beers."

Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. currently operates 18 Granite City Food & Brewery upscale casual dining restaurants featuring a broad menu of popular made-from-scratch food items and handcrafted beers. Its broad menu offers traditional and regional foods served in generous portions at reasonable prices, affording guests an excellent value and great dining experience.

The first Granite City restaurant opened in St. Cloud, MN in June 1999 and the Company subsequently expanded to other Midwest markets. The Company also operates a beer production facility which is used to provide raw material support to its restaurants to create operational efficiencies.
