Brewing news Netherlands: Heineken’s director dies after being shot by an ex-employee

One of the two Dutch managers shot by an ex-employee at a staff party for Heineken subsidiary "De Bourbon" on the island of Reunion has died of his wounds, according to an announcement from Expactica on December 19.

The death of the 35-year-old financial director was announced by Heineken on the same day.
Jean-Philippe Baptiste , 49, a former "De Bourbon" employee, walked into open-air staff party on the Indian Ocean Island of Réunion on 11 December and opened fire on the managers.

Two Dutch nationals were hit, as was the wife of a local employee. The reason behind the shooting is unclear, but it seems Baptiste had a blacklist of people he wanted to take revenge on.

Baptiste was shot dead as police attempted to arrest him. He worked under contract with the Heineken’s subsidiary "De Bourbon" brewery until 2001.
