Carib Beer, a beer brand, based in Trinidad & Tobago, “has entered into a five-year sponsorship deal for the West Indies four-day first-class cricket championship, which will now be known as the Carib Beer Cricket Series.”

Norman Sabga, the owner of Carib Brewery, chairman and CEO of Ansa McAl said in a statement: "Along with the recent announcement of our relationship with Trinidad & Tobago cricket, this is an exciting addition to our sponsorship list. The West Indies first-class cricket championship, now the Carib Beer Cricket Series, is one of the biggest competitions on the Caribbean sports calendar. We see a close link between Carib Beer and the West Indies first-class competition."

Carib Beer is a well-known brand throughout the Caribbean so the championship, which includes teams from Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Windward Islands and the Leeward Islands, as well as the Trinidad & Tobago side and the West Indies B-Team, is an ideal sponsorship vehicle.

The company was the official sponsor of the West Indies team at the World Cup in 1999.
