UK: Malt exports in April 2005 decreased by 46.7% year-on-year

In April 2005 United Kingdom exported 19,378 tonnes of malt of which 1,902 tonnes to EU countries and 17,476 tonnes to non-EU countries, according to HGCA figures. In April 2005 UK exported 6,050 tonnes of malt to Japan: 1,366 to Philippines; 1,414 tonnes to South Korea; 2,870 tonnes to Thailand. In April last year UK exported 36,379 tonnes of malt.

In July 2004-April 2005 UK exported 272,788 tonnes of malt versus 340,141 tonnes last year. For this period UK exported 13,206 tonnes of malt to EU countries and 259,582 tonnes to non-EU countries. The largest shipments were made to Japan 67,317 tonnes; to Nigeria 31,552 tonnes; to Russia 26,335 tonnes; to Thailand 47,615 tonnes; to Ireland 5,821 tonnes; to Italy 1,492 tonnes; to Netherlands 2,891 tonnes; to Bahamas 1,091 tonnes; to Barbados 1,983 tonnes; to Brazil 2,184 tonnes; to Cameroon 4,408 tonnes; to Canada 1,613 tonnes; to China 1,362 tonnes; to Israel 4,290 tonnes; to Jamaica 5,880 tonnes; to Malaysia 8,170 tonnes; to Mauritius 1,310 tonnes; to Philippines 6,108 tonnes; to Singapore 2,769 tonnes; to South Korea 3,415 tonnes; to Tanzania 5,771 tonnes; to Trinidad & Tobago 6,766 tonnes; to USA 5,686 tonnes; to Venezuela 9,050 tonnes and to Vietnam 9,767 tonnes.
