Barley news World: Barley prices remain stable except for France which sees a slight decline

While French barley prices have experienced a slight decline, prices in other regions remain stable, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.

In Australia, late season dryness concerns are boosting prices, while in Canada exports sales (China) are picking up without much liquidity evident to facilitate new trade.

In Argentina, the crop looks ‘amazing’ but the geopolitical impact of a export-duty pause has led farmers to a ‘wait and see’ mindset in terms of selling. That leaves Europe as the key origin for the time being.

A current trade limiting factor is a bearish outlook from end-users, who have seen a dramatic price drop and now hold buying interest at lower levels. Offsetting is farmers are not keen sellers at current levels. Feed barley consumption is expected to increase, as the need to capture a larger share in feed rations is essential for the global barley S&D, implying price competitiveness remains intense.
