EU: Domestic malt sales have commenced for the barley crop of 2005, malt delivery in 2006, reported prices were EUR 240-250, average price for 2005, delivered breweries. The trend of prices points downwards. As prices of malting barley for the new campaign look like EUR 125,- on average, malting margins come under bad pressure once more. Unlike last year, prices cannot drop much even after a good harvest, because they are already close to feed and intervention price levels.
