Russia: Brewers enjoy production and sales increase in 2021

Russia’s production of beer and beer-like beverages increased by 2.8% last year to 79.99 mln hl, whereas retail sales grew by 0.7% to 75.39 mln hl, the National Consumer Rights Protection Union said on January 31.

In December alone, the output of beer and beer-like beverages increased by 6%, sales decreased by 2.1% to 17.25 mln hl.

The volume of beer produced last year totalled 70.39 mln hl (+1.4% versus 2020). Output of beer-like beverages was up 15% to 9.612 mln hl.
