EU: Barley exports to 3rd countries decline in July-February 2020/21

EU barley exports (excluding malt) to 3rd countries during July 2020 – 28 Feb 2021 were 4.9 mln tonnes, 4.3% less than a year ago, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their March report.

The largest shipper was France with 1.96 mln tonnes, of which 1.84 mln tonnes to China.

In late February, Algeria, Tunisia, and Jordan bought a total of 300 thousand tonnes of European feed barley.

Not listed in the EU statistics: In September-December, the UK shipped 1 mln tonnes of barley to North Africa.
