USA, OH: Millersburg Brewing Co. to open in downtown Millersburg

Ohio's Amish country will soon get its first craft brewery, bizjournals.com reported on January, 2.

Pub owner William Baker is starting the Millersburg Brewing Co. in downtown Millersburg in Holmes County, the heart of Amish country. The village of just over 3,000 people is surrounded by dry communities, so it's already the area watering hole, and Baker feels the local brew will be an additional draw.

“We thought our own beer would be a very spicy item for the tourists,” Baker said. “I like microbreweries and micro-beers and I thought let’s make our own and see how we do.”

He'd like to offer eight to 10 beers. Windows will allow visitors to see the brewer at work.
