Canada: Wellington Brewery awarded the best Ontario micro brewery for 2006

Guelph's Wellington Brewery was given the Golden Tap Award for the best Ontario (non-GTA) micro brewery for 2006, Guelph tribune published September 06.

The Golden Tap Awards, operated by Toronto's The Bar Towel, are decided by people who voted online in eight categories.

Wellington Brewery, described as Canada's oldest independently owned micro brewery, has been operating for 22 years. Its beer can be found in more than 650 pubs and restaurants across the province.

Wellington Brewery owes its name to Arthur Wellesley, the 1st Duke of Wellington. Wellington is the courageous British commander who defeated Napoleon's French army at Waterloo in 1815.
