According to forecasts of the Agrarian Policy Ministry, the acreage of winter crops seeded for the Y2007 harvest will be 7 million ha. The need in winter crop seeds for the Y2007 harvest amounts to 1.6 million metric tons. This year, the grown harvest enables providing all producers with own winter crop seeds of high quality.

Demand for barley was the briskest on the feed grains market as for the week ended July 16. As traders need to execute their contracts and due to short supply of the new crop grain, domestic prices slightly increased - up to UAH 540/MT EXW. Domestic consumers are not in a hurry to speed up their purchases, waiting until the prices sink to an acceptable level.
