Spain: Forecast of the 2006-2007 barley production
The Spanish Minister of Agriculture forecasted the 2006/07 domestic barley production to 9.72 million t, according to May 17 media-releases fallowing the ministerial official statement.
This level exceeds two times the last year’s figures, however it remains 8.4 % below its registered 2004 volume.
The Spanish wheat production will account in 2006 for about 7.01 Million t, which is 83.5% more than in 2005, when a severe drought has led to significant decrease of the wheat crop.
