Kenya: East African Breweries Limited announces multi-brand promotion

East African Breweries Limited (EABL) announced on December 13 a multi-brand promotion to spice up Christmas and end of year festivities. Twelve houses are up for grabs, between December 21, 2005 and January 6, 2006, in the campaign dubbed Fungua Fanaka Promotion.

Patricia Ithau , the EABL Marketing Director, said the move by the company was driven by the need to be grateful to customers for their loyalty and support. "Christmas is a time to be with family and make merry. Through this promotion, we hope to give 12 lucky customers new physical addresses," she said in a statement.

James Musyoki, the Kenya Breweries Managing Director,a subsidiary of EABL, said customers would also be able to win Sh5 million worth of airtime during the promotion.He said 1,000 participants would win airtime worth Sh200 daily.The winners would be drawn randomly starting yesterday and January 6, 2006.

Participating brands are Tusker Lager, Pilsner Lager, Allsopps, Guinness (300 and 500ml), Tusker Malt and Bond 7, Richot and Smirnoff quarters.He said the firm had sought approval of Betting Controls and Licensing Board, and enlisted services of PricewaterCoopers, an audit firm, to ensure the promotion will be transparent.
