Barley news Russia: A new system of barley certification is to be introduced from September 2005

Starting with September 1, 2005 a new system of grain certification and processing produce certification is to be introduced in Russia.

The Federal State Government Press Service of Russia reported that in accordance with the regulations, starting with November 1 2005, any activity in the field of grain and processing produce quality and safety confirmation, including the issues of quality and safety certification will be carried out by certification agencies and testing laboratories (centres) which will be accredited by the Federal Service of Veterinary and Phytosanitary Inspectors- Rosselkhoznadzor.

A list of public offices under the jurisdiction of Rosselkhoznadzor was approved. These are the former state grain inspection departments in the regions of Russia. Their constituent documents are to be brought into line with Russian legislation. According to the Government’s decision these federal public offices will be annexed to the Federal Public Administration “Federal centre of grain quality and safety certification.”
