Turkey: Trk Tuborg will have a new CEO
With effect from 1 January 2006, Jesper B. Jørgensen, 39, will become CEO of Türk Tuborg in Turkey, where Carlsberg holds 96% of the shares. He has been with Carlsberg since 1994 and is currently Vice President for Carlsberg in Germany and responsible for Business Development and the integration of Holsten-Brauerei AG into the Carlsberg Group.
Jesper Jørgensen will replace Barry Marshall, 59, who has been the CEO of Türk Tuborg since 2003, and who has led the company through the past difficult years characterised by severe tax increases and company restructuring. Barry Marshall will be appointed non-executive board member of Türk Tuborg.
Carlsberg is one of the leading brewing groups in the world, with a large portfolio of beer and soft drink brands. Its flagship brand, Carlsberg, is one of fastest growing and most well known beer brands in the world. Over 31,000 people work for Carlsberg at its 91 local production sites in 47 countries and its products are sold in over 150 markets. In 2004, Carlsberg sold 92 million hectolitres of beer, which breaks down to roughly 74 million bottles of beer per day.
