Poland: Kompania Piwowarska is planning to increase its production by 25%
The country's leading brewer Kompania Piwowarska (KP) is planning to expand its production.
"We have planned implementing projects worth z³.280 million for the next four years. We want to increase production in our brewery in Tychy so that the aggregate output of both Tychy and Poznañ based plants would rise from the present 12 million hl-a-year to 15 million hl-a-year," said KP managing director Karl Lippert.
KP is a Polish subsidiary of SABMiller company, based in South Africa and present on the London and Johannesburg bourses. Currently SABMiller controls 35% of the beer market in Poland, against 18% in 1995 when it entered Poland. "In Poland our profit makes up 75% of the total profit of the whole sector," said Lippert.
During the last accounting year that ended on April 30th 2004 KP posted z³.422 million net profit. Its recent results are to be revealed on May 23rd.
