USDA Barley Forecast: Canadian barley production in market year 2005-2006 has been pegged by a USDA Ag Attaché at 12.2 million metric tonnes (MMT), down 8% from this year based on long term average yield assumptions. Canadian barley exports are projected at 2.0 MMT, up 33% from this year. The Japanese Agriculture Ministry (MAFF) didn’t purchase barley in their weekly tender.
