Barley news Australia: Malting barley prices slightly up amid dry conditions in Australia

Under the dry conditions in Australia, malting barley prices are up slightly for malting barley, as the risk for final crop quality remains, RMI Analytics said in their early June report.

In terms of feed barley, local demand had previously increased under the dry conditions, but more recently buyers have stepped away from the market.

With focus shifting back to exports, feed barley prices have moved downward in order to stay competitive in world markets, where prices are under pressure as European harvest approaches.

Australian barley exports in 2025 have been very strong start versus last year, and led by the continued strong pull from China (mainly feed/FAQ barley) which is expected to continue going forward.
