Austria: Following the successful completion of the integration of BRAU UNION AG into the Heineken Group, Chief Financial Officer Wolfgang Berger-Vogel has stepped down from his function at the Supervisory Board Meeting on 29 March 2005. The Supervisory Board accepted Berger-Vogel’s desire to withdraw to private life at the age of 64. Mr. Berger-Vogel will continue to hold various supervisory functions within the Heineken group and accompany several further projects.

The responsibilities of Berger-Vogel as CFO will be taken over by Hans P. van Zon as of 1 April 2005. The native Dutch has long international experiences within the Heineken group and his last assignment was as Financial Director of Heineken España.

Wolfgang Berger-Vogel has been working in the financial area of BRAU UNION AG, respectively the former Österreichische Brau AG since 1993. From 1999 until 2003 he was board member of BBAG, accountable for Finance and Controlling. After the foundation of the new BRAU UNION AG, he was appointed to the Management Board, responsible for Finance, Controlling, IT, Pago and Gasteiner. During his appointment, he accompanied the merger with Steirer Brau AG, the take-over of numerous foreign breweries and the acquisition of BBAG by the Heineken Group. In the future, Berger-Vogel will spend more time on his various functions outside the BRAU UNION group: Member of various committees within the Federation of Austrian Industry, chairman of the International Controller Verein (ICV) with 4000 members in Munich and the International Group of Controlling (IGC) in St. Gallen/Switzerland. Furthermore, he is honorary consul of Romania in Upper Austria. Last but not least, he will have the chance to spend more time on his favourite activity – hunting. The Supervisory Board expressed his gratitude to Wolfgang Berger-Vogel for his engagement and contribution to the success of BRAU UNION AG.

Born in March 1956, he started his career within the Heineken group in 1982 at Heineken Nederland BV., during which he amongst others gained experience within the field of controlling at the brewery Den Bosch. From 1991 onwards Mr van Zon served as Managing Director of the Commonwealth Brewery Ltd., Bahamas, as Deputy Director Cluster Africa where he was responsible for co-ordinating the Heineken business in Africa and as General Manager at Vietnam Brewery Ltd. In Ho Chi Minh City. In May 1998 he returned to Holland with his appointment as Director Control & Accounting at Heineken NV, followed by his appointment in Spain in June 2002.
