France: Malting barley prices steadily down since peak in May 2022
Since the price peak in May 2022, French Creil malting barley prices have steadily declined. This drifting lower in prices has occurred while the global barley supply and demand has tightened due to several supply interruptions, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.
French crop24 winter barley and South Australias struggles had little impact on this declining price trend. This was largely due to the on-going global weakness in barley demand.
Malting barley demand is particularly poor as global beer volumes remain weak.
