World: Global barley trade forecasts slightly up in USDAs January report
USDAs January report forecasts worlds barley trade in 2024/25 to reach 26.089 mln tonnes an increase from the 25.989 mln forecast in December but still below the previous years 31.944 mln.
Barley crop is seen at 142.030 mln tonnes versus 142.077 mln tonnes forecast last month and 143.374 mln tonnes estimated for 2023/24.
Global barley consumption is forecast to total 146.188 mln tonnes (146.213 mln tonnes forecast in December, 142.565 mln tonnes forecast for 2023/24), and ending stocks are seen at 17.548 mln tonnes (17.57 and 21.706 mln tonnes, respectively).
