Brewing news USA, WI: Bull Falls Brewing Company to close for good later this month

Wausau’s Bull Falls Brewing Company will close for good later this month, WSAU reported on September 6.

According to a Facebook post, the tap room will close for good on the evening of Monday, September 16th. Closing weekend specials will begin on Saturday the 14th.

Bull Falls Brewing opened in 2007 with its first Oktoberfest Lager. They tripled their operation in 2013, though fell on hard times in the years that followed. Oweners previously said that expansion was supposed to help them expand their distribution footprint, but that didn’t happen “for a variety of reasons,” and made it difficult for them to operate at their current scale.

The Brewery had been on shaky ground for the last two years. According to a post from May, there have been at least three different attempts to purchase the brewery that have fallen through. Last year the City Council approved a plan to auction some of the brewery’s equipment to satisfy the terms of a low-interest loan, which at the time had about $300,000 left to pay.
