Canada: The forecast of IGC for malt (grain equivalent) exports from Canada is unchanged at 0.62 million tonnes, with 2004/05 malt shipments to the US and Mexico steady during the first three months. Shipments to Japan have been broadly similar to those of a year ago. Although the 2004/05 malting barley crop in Australia is smaller than in recent years, supplies are expected to be sufficient to maintain exports at last years 0.72 million tonnes.
