North America: Canada on pace to repeat barley crop of 10 mln tonnes this year

The last 30 days provided relief to soil moisture conditions in Canada while also helping to subside the serious wildfires across northern Alberta, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.

Barley seeding is advancing but remains slightly behind normal:

� Alberta: barley 40% seeded; all crops 54% versus 58% normal.

� Saskatchewan: barley 55% seeded; all crops 68% vs. 76% normal.

Very good rains are forecast for key areas in Canada and the USA over the next week.

Canada is on pace to repeat a near 10 mln tonnes crop; the US are on pace to produce nearly 4 mln tonnes of barley, putting stocks back to normal, the analysts said.
