World: China, Germany report increase in January-September beer volumes

Chinese beer output totalled 31.0 mln hl in September, plus 5.1% y/y; January-September output was 294.8 mln hl, plus 1.4% y/y, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their latest report.

German beer sales are reported at 7.5 mln hl in September, plus 0.7% y/y, January-September volume totalled 67.9 mln hl, plus 3.4% y/y. Domestic sales were 55.8 mln hl, plus 5.2% y/y. Sales of beer mixes in January-August amounted to 3.45 mln hl, plus 1.2% y/y.

Russia’s January-September beer sales are reported at 55.7 mln hl, - 4.2% y/y, corrected from last month.

Ukrainian beer sales in January-September amounted to 9.35 mln hl, minus 30.5% y/y. The figures do not include sales of alcohol-free beer. Malt production during the same period was 125,000 tonnes, minus 29.7% y/y.

U.S. domestic l.p. beer sales were 14.4 mln bbls. in September, minus 0.9% y/y, January-September saw volume reach 124.4 mln bbls., minus 3.9% y/y. U.S. beer imports totalled 27.6 mln bbls. in January-August, plus 3.8% y/y, of which from Mexico 21.8 mln bbls., plus 11.1% y/y.
