Barley news Argentina: Barley crop forecast reduced due to La Niña drought conditions

La Niña drought conditions threaten Argentina’s 2022/23 crop results. All BAGE crop forecasts for grains and soybeans of end September are lower than the earlier USDA estimates, for corn even by 5.0 mln tonnes, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their October report.

The nation’s barley production is put at 5.0 mln tonnes, at least half a million tonnes less than private estimates earlier in the month.

Export sales as per licence bookings are 3.8 mln tonnes of old crop and close to 1 mln tonnes of new crop barley. China statistics show 2.25 mln tonnes of barley imported from Argentina in January-August.
