The Russian brewer, Sun Interbrew, part of the Interbrew beer group, has reported sales for the second quarter of 2002 of EUR 128.1 million, 11% up from the value of EUR 115.4 million for the same period of 2001. However, sales in volume terms remained the same. The company registered a net profit of EUR 3.5 million for the second quarter of 2002, which is 59% down if compared to the figure of EUR 8.6 million in the second quarter of 2001.
Sun Interbrews Russian brands Sibirskaya Korona, Tolstyak and Klinskoye registered 13%, 14% and 18% rise in sales respectively. Chernigovskoye and Taller, Sun Interbrews Ukrainian brands, also saw large sales.
