World: Most countries report decline in January-April beer output
Germanys April beer output reached 7.066 mln tonnes, minus 17.3% compared to the same month last year, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier this month.
In January-April, the nation produced 25.8 mln hl of beer, 6.2% less than over the respective period in 2019.
Czech brewers report a 21% drop in production in April and 10% drop over the first four months of the year. May sales look better, recovering to almost normal in June-July, industry observers said.
U.S. domestic levy-paid sales (under reserve for incomplete information) in April were 13.5 mln barrels, minus 4.9%, January-April 51.55 mln barrels, minus 1.7%.
In Canada, the January-March output reached 3.543 mln hl, minus 0.7%.
Ukraines January-April beer production totalled 5.03 mln hl, minus 4.1 % (malt production minus 11.1%).
Russias March beer output increased by 4.8%, January-March saw a 2.8% increase.
Brazil said January-March beer production dropped by 11.5%.
