World: Hop acreage expected to rise by almost 3% this year
During the recent meeting of the International Hop Growers' Convention (IHGC) on April 26, first official estimates on the development of world acreage were presented.
According to these, world acreage 2019 is expected to rise by approx. 1,500 ha, i.e. almost 3%, thus, the increase will be at the same level as in 2018.
An extension of acreage is reported in almost all hop growing countries, however, it focuses on the USA once again.
Conclusive data with concrete numbers on single varieties will be available in a few weeks, IHGC said.
