USA, MN: NorthGate Brewing announces sudden closure
Sad news for beer fans in northeast Minneapolis NorthGate Brewing has closed, gomn.com reported on March 1.
The company announced its sudden closure with a brusque message on March 1 on Facebook, citing "unforeseen circumstances" behind the closure.
"So long, and thanks for all the fish," it signs off which if you didn't know is a nod to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
As MPR notes, the owners had indicated that they were ready to sell the business on Harding Street NE back in December.
The company started in 2012 under the ownership of homebrewers Adam Sjogren and Todd Slininger, bringing on head brewer Tuck Carruthers a short time later.
It served its first pint at Grump's Northeast in January 2013 and in October 2014 moved from its small, 780-square-foot space to its current location.
