Brewing news USA, MA: Lost Shoe Brewing and Roasting Company coming to downtown Marlborough

Lost Shoe Brewing and Roasting Company, a craft brewery and coffee roastery, plans to open its doors this summer in Downtown Marlborough. The husband and wife team of Melynda and JP Gallagher say they are excited to bring new life to the city and hope to attract both locals and first-time visitors to the downtown area, The Marlborough Patch reported on February 2.

"There is so much going on in Marlborough and as residents of the city we are committed to our community. We want to help create a downtown that people are excited about," said JP in a statement.

JP, a recent graduate of the American Brewers Guild, plans to offer a variety of rotating beer styles, with traditional Belgian and German styles featured along with more experimental beers including New England IPAs and stouts brewed with coffee. Melynda, who studied at the Coffee Lab International, plans to highlight single origin roasts from all over the world using various brewing methods including pour over, espresso, and cold brew. The duo plans to incorporate both brews together in less traditional ways as well.

An onsite taproom will incorporate elements that highlight the city's history as a shoe manufacturing hub. Traditional bar seating and comfortable couches with coffee tables will look into the production areas to provide patrons with full transparency to the brewing and roasting processes.

The Marlborough natives plan to promote a bring your own food policy by partnering with local restaurants and food trucks.

"We'll have a few small bites on site for purchase but we are looking forward to partnering with our local restaurants to give our customers a variety of options and to support the downtown community," said Melynda in the announcement.

Plans for weekly special events including live music are in the works and the couple hopes to add some outdoor seating for the summer months.

Lost Shoe Brewing and Roasting Company will be located at 19 Weed Street.
