Canada, NB: Moosehead Breweries to add small batch brewhouse to its primary facility in Saint John

Moosehead Breweries has announced plans to add a small batch brewhouse to its primary brewery at 89 Main Street West in Saint John, Canadian Beer News reported on September 8.

According to the announcement, the new brewery will �feature a 20-barrel brewing system and a 3-barrel pilot system, allowing Moosehead to create new beers in smaller quantities for offer at retail, on-site in the tap room or at bars and restaurants.� The facility will also include a tap room, growler station, beer store, and merchandise shop.

�As a company, we�re excited to have the flexibility to experiment in ways that can be difficult within our primary brewhouse,� said Andrew Oland, President and CEO, Moosehead Breweries in a statement. �We have a talented team ready to bring incredible new innovations to life and I can�t wait to introduce these new beers to Saint John and to Canada.�

The announcement comes seven months after Moosehead cancelled plans to open a similar small batch facility on the Saint John Waterfront.

Construction on the new brewery is set to start next week, with a planned opening date of May 2018.
