World: Barley trade forecast down 100 thousand tonnes this month
World barley trade forecast for 2017/18 was reduced to 24.265 mln tonnes in USDAs Grain: World Markets and Trade report this month from 24.365 mln tonnes in the Ministrys May report.
The difference is due to Russias export forecast being reduced by 100 thousand tonnes to 3.5 mln tonnes.
World barley trade in 2016/17 is estimated at 28.045 mln tonnes.
Global barley production forecast is up to 137.472 mln tonnes this month versus 136.972 mln in May. For 2016/17, output is estimated at 147.034.
World barley consumption is seen at 144.08 mln tonnes (vs. 144.181 mln forecast for 2017/18 in May and 148.101 mln estimated for 2016/17), whereas ending stocks are seen at 17.725 mln tonnes vs. 17.468 and 24.333 mln, respectively.
