UK, London: Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) shares added three percent after the brewer said it was closing down an underused brewery in north eastern England's Newcastle, saving 10 million pounds ($17.7 million) a year and putting the firm on course for savings of 45 million pounds in its supply cost base by 2006.
