Russia: August beer consumption up 33% as compared to March
Russias beer consumption by the end of August was up 33% as compared to March this year, Kontur.Market analysts reported on October 6.
With foreign brands leaving the local market the increase in consumption mostly happened thanks to higher sales of local beer. Demand for local brands increased by 151.5% whereas demand for foreign beer only grew by 7.3%. This can be explained, among other factors, by the significant rise in prices by around 13% - for imported brands, the analysts said.
Domestically brewed beer prices increased by 8% in August as compared to March.
