Romania: Interbrew reports 3.4 million hectolitres record beer sales

Interbrew Romania, the third largest competitor on the local beer market, saw a 30% rise in its sales volume to 3.4 million hectolitres last year, Ziarul Financiar reported March 2.

Interbrew, the local branch of InBev reported the biggest growth among all the markets on which the InBev group is present, according to the information provided by the company. In 2005, Interbrew registered a sales volume of 2.6 million hectolitres, which represented an 18% rise against 2004. Last year, the manufacturer of Bergenbier launched a new brand on the local market- Lowenbrau, which registered a sales volume that topped the companyes initial estimates.
