France: Spring barley harvesting begins in France
Winter wheat and spring barley harvesting began in France, and the winter barley harvest has made significant progress.
According to the state agency FranceAgriMer, 1% of the area under winter wheat (1% on average for the same date over the past five years) and 1% (1%) of the area under spring barley have been threshed by June 23.
The winter barley harvest has been collected from 22% (13%) of the area by June 23. Of this, 21% was threshed last week.
Durum wheat has been harvested from 4% (5%) of the area.
The development of corn crops is proceeding faster than usual. 96% (92%) of the crops are in the 6-8 leaf phase. The share of corn crops in good and very good condition is 81%, the same as a year earlier.
