Canada: Barley crop in good condition
Barley crop in Canada is in good condition. Canadian Wheat Board became active in the export market of feed barley, sold several cargoes to Japan and Middle East destinations.
Prices were reported around US $ 120,- FOB, very competitive versus EU and Black Sea origins at 135,- FOB.
Canada also traded some old crop malting barley to China, old crop supplies may now be exhausted. As Panamax vessels from Vancouver to China can be fixed at around US $ 30,- per ton, CIF levels will easily be competitive with EU offers of 195,- for Esterel and 205,- for spring barley CIF Chinese ports.
