Australia: ABB Grain Ltd announced on February 7 it has left its harvest pools open to continue receiving feed 1 quality and malting quality barley, however closed the pools for lower quality feed barley as at the end of business Friday 4 February. This closure applies to feed barley ranging from feed 2 quality to feed 6 quality, in the South Australian and New South Wales No.1 pools and the Victorian No.2 pool, ABB Grain commented.
A new South Australian No.2 pool has been opened to receive deliveries of lower quality feed barley, with gross indicators A$10/t lower than the No.1 pool at A$135-145/t for feed 2 quality barley (other quality grades listed below). This equates to a delivered Port Adelaide estimate of A$108-118/t. New feed pools have not been opened in Victoria and New South Wales.
Although the pools remain open for deliveries of feed 1 quality barley, growers are reminded that these pools could close without warning.
