Australia: Barley crop potential going down - analysts
The barley crop size potential in Australia is going down, some analysts are even predicting numbers below 7 mln tonnes, the GrainCom analysts reported in their last newsletter on October 5.
It will be interesting to see how Chinese brewers are going to manage the reduced availability in Australia, as the GrainCom analysts also foresee a lack of offers for French winter barley, which would be the next lowest priced malting barley.
The global barley trade has been going down during the last months, especially because of reduced availability of Australian barley, and a reduced crop size in Ukraine.
