Australia: Malteurops expansion plan in North Geelong nearing completion
Malteurops North Geelong plant will soon be producing enough malt to brew more beer than Australians can drink, the Geelong Advertiser reported on July 16.
An $85 million project nearing completion at the plant will increase malt production from 80,000 tonnes to 200,000 tonnes a year. Works started in late 2016, the company said.
Operational since 1998 and acquired by Malteurop in August 2008, plant produces basic malts Pilsen and Pale from two-row barley.
