Latvia: First-half beer output up 12% versus last year
During the first six months of 2017 Latvian breweries produced 45.995 million litres of beer, which was 12.04% more than in the same period last year, writes LETA, according to the information from the Excise Goods Administration of the Latvian State Revenue Service.
Latvian beer imports rose 6.28% year-on-year to 51.888 million litres in the first six months of 2017.
In the six-month period, a total of 80.327 million litres of beer were released for consumption in Latvia, up 1.45% against the first half of 2016.
Latvian beer exports, meanwhile, grew 2.6 times, from 4.976 million litres in the first six months of 2016 to 12.748 million litres in January-June 2017.
As reported, a total of 73.95 million litres of beer were produced in Latvia in 2016, which was a 13.66% reduction from 2015. Last year Latvia imported 86.93 million litres of beer, up 10.66% from 2015.
