Canada, ON: Avling Brewery keen on launching this year in Toronto neighbourhood
BlogTO reports that a new brewery and restaurant will be opening next year in Torontos Leslieville neighbourhood.
Avling Brewery is being founded by Max Meighen, a brewer and former chef who worked at several breweries in London, England before moving to Toronto.
Located in a former food distribution centre at 1042 Queen St. E. near Pape Ave., Avling will include not only a brewhouse and bar/restaurant, but also a rooftop garden that will be used to grow ingredients for the restaurant kitchen, with a portion allocated for a community garden.
Meighen tells BlogTO that he is currently working on the recipes for their core range of beers, which will include a saison, IPA, lager, and a Baltic porter. Theyll be serving seasonal beers, as well as one-off brews for special occasions, with a focus on using Ontario-grown products.
More details are expected to be announced as work progresses on the brewery.
