Bulgaria: Bulgarian beer maker Kamenitza plans to refresh Astika brand
Bulgarian beer maker Kamenitza, owned by Belgium's InBev, said it will retool its Astika brand and strengthen its market presence, according to Dnevnik, January 10.
The beer will be renamed to Astika Fine Quality Lager and will sport a revamped design and packaging.
The rebranded product will replace the existing Astika Svetlo and Astika Lux beers. The relaunch of the Astika brand will be accompanied by a broad advertising campaign. The new beer will retail in glass bottles, 0.5 l kegs and 1 and 2 l PET bottles.
In addition to Astika and the flagship Kamenitza brand, the company's portfolio also features the native Burgasko Pivo, Pleven and Slavena beers as well as international brews Stella Artois, Beck's and Staropramen.
Kamenitza tallied sales of 1.4 mln hectoliters in January-September 2006, just behind Heineken-owned rival Zagorka AD.
