News from e-malt

Aftonbladet, the Swedish top tabloid, has asked two breweries in Sweden to test the levels of alcohol in beers on the Swedish market. According to the results, some of the beers tested showed alcohol levels significantly below those stated on the label. “The beer that differed most from what was stated on the label was Special Brew Super x-strong from the brewery Kopparbergs.” The label says 10%, but the tests say that the alcohol content is only 7.6 %.
CEO of Kopparbergs, Peter Bronsman, claims that it's all a “hoax”, and that the breweries that performed the tests have taken a chance to defame Kopparbergs, which is the “astest growing brewer in the Swedish market”.
