Bulgaria: Carlsberg Bulgaria sold over 1 million hl of beer in January-October 2006
According the Sofia Echos report of November 13th, the Bulgarian unit of Danish brewery group Carlsberg said on November 2 that it had sold over one million hectolitres of beer in the first 10 months of 2006, up 30 per cent on the year. The company said that the rise was mainly due to the sales of Shumensko brand which surged more than 35 per cent over the period, and Tuborg, which rose more than 30 per cent.
Carlsberg Bulgaria, selling also Pirinsko and Carlsberg brands, is the third-largest player on the local beer market after Dutch Heinekens Zagorka brewery and InBevs Kamenitza.
