UK: SAB Miller's flagship Pilsner Urquell to get investment boost of £2 million

Miller Brands UK is to invest £2 million in Czech lager Pilsner Urquell in the UK over the next 18 months, The Publican reported October 04.

The company will carry out a series of sales and marketing activities in an effort to recruit discerning consumers to the brand.

Gary Whitlie, managing director of Miller Brands UK, said: “Pilsner Urquell is an iconic, prestigious beer which serves as a global benchmark against which all other beers are judged. With a consumer base of beer connoisseurs, appreciative of quality products, the UK is the perfect market to grow this unique beer.”

Pilsner Urquell is part of SABMiller’s global premium brand portfolio which also includes Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Miller Genuine Draft.
