Russia: BBH is looking for expansion in Usbekistan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine
Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH) owned by Carlsberg and Scottish & Newcastle Plc will now invest in the beer market in Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Usbekistan, Bloomberg commented recently.
The brewery estimates that the Russian beer market will rise by somewhat lower rates in the future, even BBHs beer sales in Russia rose by 16 per cent from July to August this year. Instead of annual growth rates of 5-6 per cent, the market will only rise by 3-5 per cent in the future. And this makes Baltic Beverages look south.
Baltic Beverages will new build a new brewery in the Usbekish capital Tasjkent, and the company is also considering the soft drink market, the news agency Bloomberg wrote.
In July the brewery bought three businesses in order to strengthen their position in relation to the rivals Heineken and Inbev in the home market.
Baltic Beverages own 86 per cent of Baltika Breweries, which is Russias largest beer maker.
