Ukraine: In January-August 2006 Ukrainian beer exports rose by 24% year-on-year

In August 2006 beer exports of Ukraine increased by 9.3% or with 2,990,000 litres compared to July 2006. That means that in August Ukraine exported 35,268,000 litres of beer with a value of USD 9.7 million, according to the figures issued by the State Statistics Committee. If compared to August 2005, beer exports in August 2006 increased by 32.2% or with about 8,581,000 litres.

In January-August 2006 Ukrainian beer exports rose by 24% or with 42,802,000 litres compared to the same period last year and came to about 220,782,000 litres at a value of USD 59.86 million.

The largest beer exporter of Ukraine is Obolon.

In August 2006 beer imports of Ukraine decreased by 50.3% or with 1,074,000 litres compared to July up to 1,062,000 litres for USD 0.66 million. As in the previous month, in August the beer was mainly imported from Russia (872,170 litres, or 82.1% of all beer import volume).

If compared to August 2005, beer import in August 2006 dropped by 89.6% or with 9,137,000 litres.

In January-August 2006 beer imports decreased by 61.8% or with 23,150,000 litres compared to January-August 2005 and came to 14,282,000 litres at a value of USD 7.71 million.
