Ukraine: In 2006/07 Ukraine is forecast to export about 5 million tonnes of barley
In the current season (June 2006-July 2007) Ukraine can export about 5 mln tonnes of barley. It is up 0.5 mln tonnes from the index of 2005/06, reported analysts of IA agency "APK-Inform" on September 19.
According to the customs data in July-August 2006/07 Ukraine exported 1.02 mln tonnes of barley, up 1.7 times from the analogue index of the last season. The main volume of export fell to the share of Saudi Arabia - 597.800 tonnes. Also, large volumes were bought by Jordan.
The average selling price for barley in August decreased to $117/tonne (against $121 in July).
